The basic starter rules can be a bit confusing even to a seasoned player. The problem with the rules is it tries to deal with too many aspects of the game in such a small instruction sheet. Bakugan Battle Brawlers game
has two key components which are the Bakugan marbles and the Bakugan cards and figuring out how they both work can be tricky. Below is a our very own modified starter rules to help you figure out the general
gameplay of Bakugan. If you are having trouble following the basic rules then start with our rules and slowly add the other parts of the game.
.
In order to makes things easier to understand we've taken out the Ability cards since they can affect every part of the gameplay. You can slowly introduce the cards later on as you figure out the steps.
We removed the use of the gate card ability text and we've taken out the ability cards so players can focus on the general flow of the gameplay. Since the gate card ability text and ability cards
affect a wide range of elements of the game then simply letting a beginner deal with it right away might cause a lot of confusion. Our rules might look a little longer but we've listed each
actions available for each player (assuming a two player game) so beginners can get an idea of turn based system.
One general rule is each player gets to do 1 action at a time so each player can get a chance to respond to what ever the previous player's action might be.

Placing the gate cards
Player 1 sets up his or her gate card by playing his or her gate card face down. The card is placed right in front of Player 2 and 2 cards away from Player 2's position.
Player 2 sets up his or her gate card by playing his or her gate card face down. The card is placed in front of Player 1 and 2 cards away from Player 1's position. The cards

Setting up the field
Player 1 sets up his or her Bakugan and places them in a designated unused pile. The unused pile is an area where unused gate cards (and ability cards) and Bakugan are placed.
3A
If Player 1 has all of his or her Bakugan in his or her used pile then Player 1 gets to put all his or her Bakugan to the unused pile.

Player 2 sets up his or her Bakugan and places them in a designated unused pile. The unused pile is an area where unused Ability cards and Bakugan are placed.

Rolling the Bakugan
A Bakugan that is rolled and stops on a gate card but does open (stays in ball form) is considered as a bakugan landing on a gate card.
A Bakugan that is rolled, pops open on a gate card and flys off to another locations is considered to have opened on the gate card where it flew off.
4A
Player 1 rolls one of his or her unused Bakugan to any gate card he or she chooses on the field (the field is the Bakugan play area).
If Player 1 lands on a gate card that has Player 2's Bakugan then a Bakugan battle will occur. Proceed to Step 5. Otherwise proceed to Step 3C.
If Player 1 lands on a gate card that has another one of Player 1's Bakugan and there is another empty gate card then Player 1 moves the last rolled Bakugan to the empty gate card.
Proceed to step 4B.
Example: The image below shows Player 1's Pyrus Ingram and Pyrus Alpha Hydranoid on his gate card. Since there is another empty gate card, Player 1 must move the last rolled bakugan to the empty
gate card. If the Pyrus Alpha Hydranoid was last to roll onto the gate card then Player 1 moves that Bakugan to Player 2's gate card.

If Player 1 lands on a gate card that has another one of Player 1's Bakugan and there is no other empty gate card then Player 1 wins the gate card without a battle. Proceed to step 6.
Example: The image below shows Player 1's Pyrus Ingram and Pyrus Alpha Hydranoid on his gate card. Since there is no other empty gate card and Player 1 has 2 of his or her Bakugan on
the same gate card (regardless of who owns it) then Player 1 wins that gate card without a battle.

4B
Player 2 rolls one of his or her unused Bakugan to any gate card he or she chooses on the field (the field is the Bakugan play area).
If Player 2 lands on a gate card that has Player 1's Bakugan then a Bakugan battle will occur. Proceed to Step 5. Otherwise proceed to Step 4A.
If Player 2 lands on a gate card that has another one of Player 2's Bakugan and there is another empty gate card then Player 2 moves the last rolled Bakugan to the empty gate card.
Proceed to step 4A.
If Player 2 lands on a gate card that has another one of Player 2's Bakugan and there is no other empty gate card then Player 2 wins the gate card without a battle. Proceed to step 6.
If you reach this step then either no Bakugan battle has occured or both rolled their bakugan and landed on their own gate card. Proceed to step 4A.

If Player 2 owns the gate card where there is a battle then Player 2 reveals or flips the gate card so that the gate card name and the attribute bonus are visible to both players.
For our simplified starter rules all gate card text is ignored.

Bakugan Battle: Adding Up the Bakugan G-Powers
Both players check their Bakugan for the printed G-Power. The Bakugan G-Power is matched and added to the Gate card attribute bonus which is shown on the gate card. The total value is the G-Power of that Bakugan
for this battle.
Players then compare Bakugan G-Powers and the winner of the battle is decided by the Bakugan with the highest G-Power.

Bakugan Battle: Winning a Battle
If a Player won a battle or lands 2 of his or her Bakugan on the same gate card (when no other empty gate card is available) then he or she wins a gate card. The winner of the battle gets to put the gate card (where the Bakugan battle was won) in his or her used pile. The Player does not get ownership of the gate card and the gate cards or other cards or Bakugan
owned by other players are returned at the end of the game.
If one Player has 3 gate cards in his or her used pile then he or she is the winner. If no winner then proceed to step 7A

If there is no gate card on the field then Player 1 gets to put another gate card (from his or her unused pile) faced down on the field. Proceed to 7B.
7B
